WISHAH POPULAR DANCE TROUP

Description

  • “Dance group working towards presenting visual dance shows which are based on the artistic inheritance of music and songs from Arab and Palestinian traditional culture. It was established in 2003 upon an initiative of Mohammad Ata and a group of enthusiastic amateur dancers.
  • Through its work, the group aims to contribute to artistic development in Palestin, and strives to preserve it from marginalization attempts, as well as to contribute to the advancement of Palestinian popular dancing.
  • The troupe was registered in 2005 under the name “Wishah Popular Dance Troupe Association.” The troupe is managed by a director’s committee of seven members, and currently has twenty young female and male members volunteering as singers and dancers”1)
